He made the statement while commissioning a dormitory constructed at Logiri girls secondary school with funds from the Japanese government on Tuesday.

Minagawa said as he was traveling from Kampala to Arua the termack road was fair but reaching Odia Nyadri crossing to Logiri girls, the road was full of pot holes and was fit for body massaging compared to the massaging machines.

The road connecting Arua town from Uganda Congo border has become impassable with un countable pot holes which are more dangerous during heavy down pours.

Logiri girls secondary school is located near Logiri Sub County headquarters about 30 kilometres from Arua town which is connected with marun roads that are in a dear need of better construction.

Meanwhile the diplomat expressed disappointment over the act of sex hungry men who like piping at the yoyos of school age going girls to stop.

He said some men and boys have liked the idea of piping at women and girls especially when they are showering in bath rooms or outside in rivers and other sources of water.

He noted that most young girls have never enjoyed better education in Uganda following poor accommodation facilities like dormitory, bathing shelter and other structure to make the girls relax when it comes to their monthly periods.

The diplomat observed that, Logiri girls secondary has had a challenge in accommodation in both class rooms and dormitory, but now the completion of 180 capacity dormitory which holds 90 double decker’s with 14 roomed bath and extra 36 metallic double decker’s at a cost of 216.5million and additional 12milion UG shillings.

This will solve the challenge of accommodation in the school. He said education is a compatible basis of development and challenged the parents of the school to value girl child education.

The Member of Parliament for Vurra County Dr. Sam Okuonzi who accompanied the ambassador observed that, most times leaders tend to disagree over philosophy of life principals but should always agree to lobby for developments for a better future of the young generation.

He warned the students to utilize the facility to produce better performance.

Some of the challenges associated to girl child whom the school administrators observed included, sexual harassment, gender harassment, forced marriage, early marriage and child labor among others.

Lack of fence at the school has also posed a threat to the education of the girl child. Logiri girl’s secondary school has an enrolment of 713 students.
